Sri Kailash Lohia is the business tycoon of North-East India.

He was born to Late Sri Rameshwar Lalji Lohia and Late Smt. Durgadeviji Lohia in Rodhu, Rajasthan in the year 1954. He is the 7th child to his parents.

He did his schooling from Marwari Hindi High School and graduation from Nagaon College in 1975. He says he has great childhood memories with his six brothers and three sisters. In 1978 he got married to Sunita Devi who is from Siliguri and they are blessed with two daughters and one son. His daughters Shweta is married to Rahul Bajaj, Shillong and Neha is married to Rishi Agarwal, Delhi. His son is doing MBA from S.P. Jain, Mumbai.

Mr. Lohia started his business career at a nascent age of 17 with his cousin. It was steel business. In 1977 he came to Guwahati and his business grew at galloping speed under the name Bajrang Steel and he never lokked back.

In 1985 he installed his first Rolling Mill under the name Bajrang Ispat Pvt. Ltd. He is a joint owner of a mega store, Sohum Shoppe, which is a favourite shopping destination of customers. He also owns a Coke plant. Yet another jewel in the crown is his cement business under the name Topcem Cement. He is also an authorised distributor of Tata Steel for Tata Shaktee range of galvanised products. He is also involved in the business of Real Estate and construction. He is the co-founder of DPS Guwahati.

He is a very down to earth person and does lots of charity work. He is the President of Marwari Sammelan Kamrup, Guwahati from the last three years and is also associated with a lot of other social projects.

He attributes his success to his wife who has always been a pillar of strength and moral support for him.
